It is demonstrated that in only a few of the contexts proposed in Tanomura (2001) was there meaningful variation. In many of the cases, only one of the variants was found, forming a categorical environment. This suggests that the environment following the verb is one of the strongest internal factors. Another internal factor, a generalization concerning the special mora in the verbal stem, was found to hold in the current corpus as well.
