The findings suggest that the knowledge about countries and the foreign language increase from four to six of age. There was no difference in attitudes towards the foreign language: children at these ages had positive attitudes towards the ability to speak the English language, suggesting the existence of the influence from the value the society places on the English language on children’s attitudes at this early stage of childhood. When compared with their knowledge of countries, some children from the five-year-old group showed inability to judge whether it is cool to speak the English language.
