On the other hand, Kawahara (2014) and Kubozono et al. (2002) propose many evidences that show the existence of syllables in Japanese.\nIn order to solve this problem, this paper focuses the structures and features of the special morae including the moraic nasals (撥音), the geminate consonants (促音) and the long vowels (長音) in Japanese. In  conclusion, this paper shows that the Japanese special morae have no “C/V” slot and that the primary factor of the assimilation which causes the allophones of the special morae is the coda position. This result supports that the syllable takes precedence over the mora in Japanese.
