We interviewed 10 families who had moved abroad and now reside outside Japan. We conducted interviews with 3 families in Chicago in November 2015 and 7 families in New Jersey in August 2016.\n     Based on the survey, overseas residents experienced various culture shocks as a result of interacting with ethnic groups in the networks to which these overseas residents themselves belong.
