Analyzing cases of frequently repeated international movements in terms of the key concepts of (1) location in time and place, (2) timing in life, (3) linked lives, and (4) human agency, this study clarifies the process whereby human agency exerts influence, particularly in the context of life courses involving repeated international movement. \nIn September 2017, I conducted an interview study (using semi-structured interviews) involving three cases in a snowball format. Of these, I attempted a life-course analysis for two cases (Cases 1 and 2) of families with experience of multiple overseas postings. The social convoy underwent significant change upon contact with other cultures, and initially, a situation prevailed in which they were unable to hide their confusion over this change.
