In Australia, the Home Interaction Program for Parents and Youngsters(HIPPY)is practiced with the aim of reducing educational disparities in the country. The HIPPY is an educational program for socioeconomically disadvantaged families with preschool children, such as indigenous families and families where a language other than English is the primary language spoken at home. A review of the literature on the implementation of HIPPY illustrates that the view of assistance as a prerequisite for its implementation, the programs that correspond to the national curriculum guidelines, and the home visits and tutoring programs are effective not only in developing children's cognitive abilities in preparation for school, but also have the potential to improve parents' confidence and their sense of belonging to the community. In addition, the program also improves early childhood education support for the entire community.
