In addition, the number of suicides among children is increasing, in spite of the number of suicides is decreasing in society as a whole. The problems faced by students are becoming more and more diverse, and the issues, that teachers have to tackle in student guidance, are becoming more and more serious, and the subjects of guidance are becoming more and more diverse. This paper summarizes the problems faced by student guidance and examines the practices of local governments that are making advanced efforts in student guidance, taking into consideration the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology's (MEXT)(2017) \"Enhancing Educational Counseling for Students: Creating a Systematic Educational Counseling System to Enhance the Educational Capability of Schools\", and also referring the revision of the student guidance manual that is being recommended in 2021.
